Anna Announced To Be Shipped With All Future Symbian Phones

On the very event, the CEO of Nokia, Stephen Elop has announced that the existing device that runs of the version 3 of Symbian will be receiving the new Symbian update from the month of July.

Nokia phones that are declared to come under this up-gradation process are Nokia C7, Nokia N8, Nokia E7 and Nokia C6 01. The new devices to be launched since the month of July this year will be shipped with Symbian Anna, pre-installed. However, the existing devices will be sent the update via a software update, most likely to be dispatched by the closing of August, 2011.

In the ongoing event, the company has come forth to announce the launch of 10 new smartphones that will run on the Symbian OS. The handsets due to be released will be unveiled over the subsequent 12 months that will stretch till the mid of 2012. The devices are also claimed to have support the framework of Qt, that forms the core of smartphones by Nokia. Nokia considers this as its upcoming ‘billion’ strategy for its pending releases.

Users and non-users, should know that Anna is the first ever official update on the Symbian OS of its Version 3. The update brings in an improved home screen and portrait keypad (QWERTY).
