Nokia T7-00 Review
If there were any points given for ‘trying’ within the Smartphone world, Nokia would have gladly taken the honors back home as this Finnish giant has lately been on the march ahead to retain back its world Smartphone domination crown. The entire swing materialized when Nokia decided to launch the gorgeous N8 that had serious performance to booth the gorgeous appeal. Nokia has since launched several Smartphones and is currently predicted to launch a staggering 40 handsets in this year alone. However, what has emerged the talking point within several rumor mills is the emergence of the highly elegant Nokia T7-00. One look at this drool worthy device and you know Nokia have managed to pull out something special. Sleekest to the core, T7-00 acquires its design aspects mostly from the highly popular Nokia N8. With the build being specified as Anodized aluminum casing, the 3.5 inch AMOLED display looks simply stunning upon the glossy metallic body.
Rumored to be introduced sometime within the 3rd quarter of 2011, T7’s 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen will be made out of scratch resistant Gorilla glass and will carry an Accelerometer sensor, Proximity sensor and complete multi-touch input controls. Interestingly, the T7-00 figures to be sporting the Symbian^3 OS rather than the newly unveiled Symbian Anna OS that can arguably take the battle to Android. Thankfully, these specs are not officially confirmed therefore changes could be expected from the OS front.
Apparently, the Nokia T7-00 will support Nokia’s latest generation 700 MHz, ARM 11 processor with dedicated GPU support for OpenGL 2.0 provided onboard. Connectivity wise the T7 certainly looks fantastic as this Quadband GSM handset comes with support for GPRS, EDGE, 3G (HSDPA,HSUPA), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, micro USB 2.0 along with Nokia’s exclusive ‘USB On-the-go’ support.
Although Nokia have managed to retain the N8’s extremely elegant Anodized aluminum casing, but they have sadly done away with the 12MP camera which is replaced by an excellent 8MP Carl Zeiss autofocus camera capable of capturing HD videos at 720p. The optic can also capture still images at a maximum resolution of 3264×2448 pixels. Besides, Nokia will be offering a powerful Xenon flash onboard to enhance lighting conditions during poor light.
On the down side, the Nokia T7-00 won’t ship with an integrated HDMI port. Besides, recent pictures that have surfaced over the internet, clearly show the ‘Nokia Nseries’ inscribed at the back of the Smartphone rather than the expected Tseries logo. While this certainly takes out the exclusivity factor out of the equation, but that doesn’t discount the fact that the Nokia T7-00 is simply brilliant.
Other than the high-end hardware, the Nokia T7-00 comes with Active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic, Digital compass, voice command/dial, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Flash Lite 4.0, Predictive text input, photo/video-editor and enhanced Push Email and IM support. The T7-00 will also include A-GPS support that will thrive upon the handsets dedicated Ovi maps service. Captivatingly, the handset is rumored to support advanced voice navigation.
