BlackBerry World Gears Up for New Announcements – Curve Torch Might Be Revealed

According to the latest rumour, BlackBerry is planning to launch its latest touch screen enabled smart phone, Curve Torch in the upcoming BlackBerry World, which is going to take place on 3rd to 5th May, 2011. It is also rumoured that T-Mobile will market the device after its release. Therefore, the handset may bring several attractive phone deals once it releases in the market. Though it is still in the rumour stage, but speculation is rife that June or July is being targeted as the launching period of Curve Torch.

According to the leaked images, Curve Torch has completely dropped the physical keyboard like the other BlackBerry phones and relies entirely on the touch screen factor. In fact, trackpad also seems to be missing from the appearance of this new handset. If the leaked image is the final design of the phone, then it cannot be denied that it looks stunning because it appears so un-BlackBerry type.

The handset is touted to be the GSM version of BlackBerry Malibu, which comes with 3.25” HVGA screen, 512MB RAM, HD video recording, 5 mega pixel camera and 800MHz processor. Therefore, these features are expected to be included in Curve Torch as well.

Certain renowned resources have also provided specifications of the phone. According to those resources, the display of the phone is going to be 3.25 inches TFT touch screen with optical track pad, accelerometer sensor and touch sensitive controls with 480 x 360 pixels resolution.

The storage capacity seems to be impressive with 512 MB RAM and 1 GB ROM internal memory. It also brings microSD card slot to enhance the storage capacity to the maximum limit of 32GB. For connectivity aspects, the presence of 3G HSDPA and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n will definitely provide faster browsing and downloading experience.

Other prominent features of the phone include 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash, 720p video recording, media player, A-GPS supports and lot more. Now we need to wait and see if there is any truth in this rumor.
