The Wave II launches in the UK
The Samsung Wave II was launched in the UK earlier today.
The successor to the ever so famous original Samsung Wave was launched in the shadows, as the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 stole the lime light, thus resulting in an anti climax to those who had been waiting impatiently for the new Wave.
The new Wade is running on the Bada operation software. Bada had made an appearance earlier, but like Wave 2, it had been over shadowed by the previous Galaxy phone that used the Android OS.
The mobile phone manufacturing company however decided to stick with Bada inspite of this.
The new device has a 3.7 inch “super clear” LCD display screen, a 1 GHz processor and a five megapixel camera with HD quality of 720 pixels and 30 fps – details that would make more sense to an audio visual person than others.
The device is 11.8 mm thick and has an added feature of a front facing camera, something that the original Wave did not have. It also uses TouchWiz UI.
The Samsung brand is using mobile networks O2 and Phone4u to bring out the phone. As an additional incentive to tempt customers, it will contain five of the list’s highest rated and much wanted applications from EA Sports and Gameloft.
Expert analysts are speculative about the selected timing of the phones launch. Some felt that the company could have done better to wait till the Galaxy fever sobered down a little before bringing the Wave in. Customers however were happy with that the Wave was finally here, which in some opinion, is all that counts.
Simon Stanford, Samsung Marketing Director of the UK and Ireland re-emphasised this emotion by dedicating this new Samsung Wave 2 model to the fans, in a lot more words than just that.
