Motorola Plans Expansion of Distribution Channel in the UK
According to Mobile Magazine, Motorola is serious about its plans in the UK market. Motorola is planning to increase the distribution channels in the United Kingdom in order to support the arrival of its two latest devices- one is the tablet PC XOOM and other one is the smart phone ATRIX. The company has decided to make such move because it has got a great response with Motorola Defy that was introduced in the UK market last year. The device showcased some excellent marketing plans and it resulted in a superb boost to the profile of Motorola in the UK.
The European marketing director of Motorola, Tom Satchwell said that they are aware about the huge potential of the UK market and with the latest devices; they expect to grab a commendable position. He also said that the consumers in this market are experienced and the retailers and carriers are quite tough as well. However, the success of Defy has shown them a positive way, which they are planning to expand in 2011.
Overall sales of Defy were hitting 10,000s every week internationally. The phone has gathered good response in the UK market and it is quite evident if you go through its specifications. It loads the power of Wi-Fi 802.11 and HSDPA, which ensures high speed browsing experience for the users. The Android v2.1 is upgradable to FROYO and the users can access all the features of Google such as Maps, Gmail, Gtalk, and YouTube.
