LG Optimus Black spotted on T Mobile page

lg blackDays after LG announced the launch of their Optimus 2X mobile phone device, the LG Optimus Black was spotted on T Mobile’s UK page.

The phone was unveiled earlier by LG at the CES 2011, but T Mobile recently took it a step further and added it to its ‘Coming Soon’ list. They also listed a release date in March.

This is the first time that a network carrier has ever declared the coming of a new device. And one can only wonder if the silent announcement was intentional.

According to T Mobile, the UK customers should be the first to get their hands on the Optimus Black device. No information has however been released on its pricing, even on the T Mobile website, that lists the phone without any pricing details.

The LG Optimus Black is a high powered Android device running on the 2.2 v of Froyo. It is 9.2 mm in thickness with HSPA connectivity, WiFi, GPRS, High Definition video recording, a 1 GHz processor and two camera. The front facing camera is a two megapixel snapshot, while the camera at the back is of five megapixel. This is also the first device to have the new LG Nova display.

LG_Optimus_BlackThere has been some speculation to the Android system in the phone, however LG has been reassuring the public that the Optimus Black would be upgraded to the 2.3 v Android Gingerbread system.

Pre orders are not open yet, however T Mobile is playing LG agent, and letting potential customers and LG enthusiasts register to know more about the device and its launch, and to receive the latest information from when the pre ordering finally goes live. This should help to stay ahead in the virtual line that is already being drawn in anticipation of the Black device.
