All the Big Scoops of Mobile World Congress 2011
Looking back at the success of CES 2011, MWC to be held in Barcelona this February, certainly promises to be even bigger with all the major market players lining up mega releases to mark the occasion. Although the event draws huge attention every year, but 2011 definitely seems like a breakthrough year where possibly all the future technologies expected for the next 3 years could be showcased.
The year 2010 marked the release of Microsoft’s very own Windows Phone 7 (WP7). However, following months saw no activity from this space. Luckily, Microsoft has chosen this year’s MWC to showcase their big WP7 update that could possibly surprise Google’s Android for at least the time being. In other news, LG will be showcasing the world’s first dual-core 3D Smartphone via the Optimus 2X and Optimus 3D. But the Korean firm’s biggest move will be in the form of the much awaited Android tablet PC rumored the Optimus Pad.
Meanwhile, Samsung will update last year’s best selling Android handset the Galaxy S with the Samsung Galaxy S2 which interestingly will sport a ‘Super AMOLED Plus’ display and will be powered by a dual core processor along with Android 2.3 OS. It’s not just the bigger daddy the Galaxy S that gets updated; Samsung will also be introducing a plethora of other Galaxy handsets such as the Galaxy Mini, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Fit and the Galaxy Gio.
While US giants Motorola will unveil their most powerful Smartphone handset till date, which is the Motorola Atrix. Besides, CES show stealer, the dual core Motorola Xoom tablet PC will also accompany the Atrix to exhibit some of its new features based on the new Android 3.0 OS platform that incidentally supports multi threaded operations.
Recent times have seen tons of activities coming from Finnish giant Nokia. Rumor surrounds a possible merger with Microsoft to be on the cards. Though it’s not official, Nokia is planning to showcase the flagship Nokia N9 along with Nokia’s vey first MeeGo tablet PC. However, there is news that Nokia has scrapped the launch of N9.
