‘Comes with Music’ Service of Nokia comes to an End

If the recent speculation of the market is to be believed, Nokia is planning to close its ‘Comes with Music’ service. This feature of the Finnish mobile phone company provided the users with the power to download unlimited music files from Ovi store so that they can enjoy playing music on their PC or handset. This service has got quite popularity in the Asian market, but things are not that rosy in the West. Therefore, the ‘Comes with Music’ service will be no longer available on the Nokia phones since mid-Jan 2011.

The industry experts believe that there are several reasons for this failure. First of all, the cost of the Nokia handsets that included this feature is quite high. Moreover, using the service was not user friendly. Many users faced difficulty to use the service on their handset. Even the usage of files was restricted due to DRM controls.

There is a strong negative feedback for the ‘Comes with Music’ service as many users got frustrated by trying to use the service. In fact, there were reports that users need to go through tricky firmware updates before getting tracks on their Nokia mobile phone. Due to such response, Nokia has probably decided to pull up the service.

This may initially affect the mobile phone deals of Nokia mobile phones that include the service. Especially the phones that are solely dedicated on this feature like Nokia 5325 Comes with Music will surely get affected.

Nokia pulled up this service may be because it has better plans to introduce in the future. It is true that the mobile phone company has excellent plans for 2011 as it will introduce some excellent smart phones. We have to wait and watch what Nokia introduces to replace ‘Comes with Music.’
