User starts Nokia N8 hate site, Symbian 3 problems large

n97-trashNokia cooked themselves into a soup again as problems with their newly release Nokia N8 were reported by many users.

One such user was so angst by it that he started a hate website – http://n8fail.tumblr.com/ to vent out his steam. He opens it with an introduction that reads – ‘I have an N8. I actively resent using it.’

The previously excited Nokia fan had been elated with his purchase of the new model however as problems began piling up, his loyalty turned to anger. He has stated that he would be returning the phone at the earliest.

Most of the problems that this user faced with the phone were linked to Symbian 3 software issues, which had until now been the number one operating system on the mobile market.

The user complained of a ‘captcha issue’ where he was required to type some text however after the keypad appeared on the screen, the captcha had disappeared and he realized that he had been meant to memorise the combination.

He also had some problem with installing the Ovi app store before being able to use the device properly and even after the install, the phone did not seem to recognize that it had been installed.

These were some of the problems that a lot of users have been complaining about.

nokia-n8 sideNokia has had a tough time making a mark in the smart phone market and the Nokia N8 had been their answer to the world’s much echoing question of whether Nokia is bowing out of the game.

However with N8 issues mounting, there arrives a need for Nokia to check their options carefully and play their cards smartly in a market that is dominated by the Apple and its latest iPhone 4 as well as heavy bodies like HTC and other.

I too was a Nokia man and was sooooo excited to be getting the N8 (on pre-order from Nokia UK). I spent months researching it and watching youtube videos of it the pre-released phone. Then when I got it it crashed on me everyday to the point I had to hard reset, it ran slow when more than one app was open to the point I was litterally waiting for the text to appear on my phone when texting -I was three words ahead of it! (and I only had the internet on and the text app). Sometimes the multitask window would just show icons instead of the screen shot.

There were many other faults on the phone and it felt unfinished. I am so annoyed and have sent it back and will get a non Nokia phone now. I feel really let down and like I've been living in a bubble supporting Nokia and not even really checking the competition. I hate Nokia now as I wasted so much time with them and was letting better technology pass me by. HTC is the way forward I think.
