O2 Again Updates HTC Desire With Froyo

HTC Desire With FroyoThe previous attempt of O2 to update HTC Desire with the latest version of Android failed miserably, but after a period of some three weeks the operator is sending out the same updates again.

The earlier attempt to update the HTC Desire phones with Android 2.2 was a disastrous event. Many users complained that their handset have started getting problems after they downloaded the updated operating system. For some people, the device was freezing during start-up only. O2 received numerous complains and decided hold back the update until they fix the problems. Though some people reported that the update worked for them, but O2 didn’t took any chance and put a hold on the update.

However, it seems that the issues are fixed as O2 is again rolling out the update for the Desire users. However, the experts are recommending that the users should take a back up of vital data before downloading the latest update on their handset.

If the update works properly, the users can enjoy numerous features and smart applications on their handset. Some Android 2.2 applications that the HTC Desire users will enjoy are improvements on performance and speed, HD video recording, Flash Player 10.1, etc. It can be a good move to make the users of HTC Desire happy and not envious as HTC is expanding this series with brand new handsets called Desire Z and Desire HD.

During August, HTC released the first Android 2.2 updates, but the updates were only given to the unlocked and SIM free devices. Those who are using Desire on the networks have not received any such update, but the owner of the mobile phone on O2 can get this update now. It is to be seen how this update performs.
