Android 2.2 upgrade by Nov end: T Mobile
T Mobile – a well known UK Wireless Carrier is looking to upgrade their Samsung Galaxy S users to the Android 2.2 software by the end of the next month, some posts on the T Mobile forum revealed.
The upgrade was previously due at the end of September but was pushed back by 2 month, inspite of the brand having continued to declare in September that it would be coming out then, even at a time when everyone declared a delay in the up-gradation.
The reason for the delay as stated on the forum by a T Mobile employee was that they were configuring it to be able to work along with Orange as well. T Mobile and Orange merged on paper earlier this year however the merging of the network services of the two has been slow and purposeful, with them both still holding on to their individual identities as of now but allowing a lot more services to be accessed by both the companies. This strategy has played in their behalf as it has given the user the choice of which network he wants to use.
The T Mobile is not the only brand to offer this upgrade to the Android 2.2 Froyo software, with Australia’s Optus also offering its customers a similar upgrade.
The Android 2.2 software is a popular upgrade that hit the mobile market recently. A lot of the latest launched devices have jumped eagerly on using this software.
T Mobile has struggled a lot lately with regards to network issues and other problems – which was one of the reasons that experts feel that the brand and Orange did not leap at combining their services.
This upgradation is looked upon and awaited with a lot on enthusiasm by the users of T Mobile who have had to wait patiently to ‘make sure it’s worth it’, as the T Mobile employee put it on the forum.
