Nokia ships the N8
Nokia stated that they were starting shipping of the new Nokia hand set N8.
This announcement comes as a pleasant surprise to Nokia enthusiasts who were told only last week, that Nokia were holding back on to the shipments to allow some final last minutes amendments.
Customers had previously ordered the Nokia N8, expecting delivery by the end of September, but were told recently that they would only receive the device by October. Nokia now stated that pre ordered customers would be the first to receive the phone. Availability however would vary per region in keeping with local domestic time constraints. They also added that broad availability would take a few weeks.
The Nokia N8 has received the maximum demand in the entire Nokia history and Jo Harlow has stated on record that around 100 wireless network operators have signed up to partner with Nokia’s latest play thing.
Nokia and Apple have been fighting a long legal battle and are in some sense sworn enemies. Apple recently sued Nokia in the UK, adding fuel to the suit that Nokia files on Apple in USA. This device hopes to be able to join the competitive war that the two brands have waged on each other. Nokia is launching the N8 as a competitor to the Apple iPhone.
Business Analysts however were of the opinion that the Nokia couldn’t compete with Apple in regards to service and application availability, however would still be a huge hit in the market.
The Nokia N8 that is using the new Symbian software is also hoping to battle mobile using Google’s Android system.
The Nokia N8 is said to be sold at a high costs, being that its launch is so close to the Christmas boost that the market faces, and therefore spells a lot of profit for Nokia.
