Vodafone 360 Apps Forced on HTC Desire Users
Many HTC Desire users are annoyed with the sudden update of Vodafone 360 apps on their mobile phone. Vodafone forums are getting numerous complaints as the users are not being able to remove the apps from their handset.
Some complaints reveal that the customers are furious with the annoying Vodafone update with new applications. The home screen of the mobile phones features Vodafone start- up and includes several shortcuts to websites. The users were expecting an update of the Android operating system with the latest version called Froyo 2.2.
HTC Desire is one of the best selling mobile phone of 2010 and Vodafone is an official carrier of the handset in the UK market. There was a rumor of updating the handset with Google’s latest Android operating system, but the slamming of Vodafone 360 apps is simply unexpected for the users.
The users have to reorganize everything on their home screen because of the added bookmarks. Many users said that they do not want extra icons or MySpace and Flirtomatic on their bookmarks. However, the worst sufferers are those users that have suffered removal of certain applications such as the dictionary because of the update. Some users are even facing problems in sending SMS or getting duplication of messages in the folders. As of now, there is no official response from Vodafone on such comments by the users. Hopefully, the giant carrier will come up with a justifiable explanation sometimes very soon.
Experts believe that, it could result a major blow to Vodafone for marketing HTC Desire and other Android phones that need update. The other major carriers may come up with exciting offers on Desire to cash on this controversy. It could be a major disaster from a leading service provider like Vodafone.
