Samsung to take advantage of Apple’s disgrace
After much success at the sale of the Galaxy, Samsung is now looking to stretch itself to a Galaxy Tablet, called Galaxy Tab for short.
Samsung Galaxy S was a sparkling success with sales of over a million in the first week itself. In response to this success, the Korean based global brand feel that they are ready to get even with the Apple.
The date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab launch has been set at August 11 this year. The Galaxy Tab – also called the S Pad – is going to be a 7 inch screen smart phone, however the company is hoping to release an 8 inch in November and a 10 inch following that in December of this year.
The machine will be using Google’s latest operating system, the Froyo or Android OS 2.2, and will have a 7 inch touch screen. It is reported to have a 1.2 GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor with 16 GB worth of space which is expandable. It will also have a 3.2 megapixel camera with a sophisticated flash and a VGA camera in front. The smart phone type device is also reported to come with Wi-Fi accessibility.
Experts have predicted that with this model, Samsung could and may give the Apple some heavy competition. The Apple brand has been hit with a lot of negative press and fallen reputation. One is forced to wonder whether Apples fall from grace could affect the sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab in a positive manner, as many in the market are almost looking for another option that is not too far from the Apple.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab also comes at the right moment, when the market is open to considering the reign of a new unit, as a result of the Apple incidents. However one should also be aware that Apple will not take this lying down and could very well bounce back as quickly as they fell.
