The HTC Desire Z is Not Yet Confirmed to have A Slide-Out Keyboard

Carphone Warhouse had reportedly let the new HTC Desire Z out on its website until it dismissed the news to be of a rumour of some kind. The website has reportedly removed the descriptions and specification of the phone, from its ‘coming soon’ list since the announcement.

However, the HTC Desire Z is a real show stealer, if it truly exists. It will be the first ever HTC handset with the Android device to have a sliding keyboard. According to the description in the site, the phone is supposed to run an Android 2.1 version instead of the latest 2.2 version. This handset has previously been spotted by Slashgear in the Germany’s system of Vodafone.

The specifications and configuration of the phone as has been leaked out previously are listed here. With a massive touch screen of 4.3 inches, this one will sport a powerful 8 Megapixel Camera delivering superb 720p HD video quality. Coupled with a humongous 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, this gadget will accommodate all the usual features of high quality phones like Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and HSPDA.
After its first tryout with keyboard in T-Mobile G1, HTC has completely shifted from Qwerty keyboards. The reintroduction of the same in another Android phone was quite unexpected and surprising, as HTC has the history of manufacturing window mobiles only.

The company is purportedly launching this handset as a contender to Blackberry Torch, which is complained to have an apathetic network reception in the US. The Desire Z, however, cuts the edge with its Android software.

No acertained confirmation has yet been received from HTC about the official launch of Desire Z, but it is expected to hit the market within the next month. For the next updated report keep reading.
