iPhone in-charge leaves Apple


SackingMark Papermaster left Apple in what many X2PCNWJNMYAR assume to be a management decision to sooth things over. The departure of Apple Executive who was responsible for the engineering of the iPhone was confirmed by the Apple spokesman Steve Dowling, however they refused to give an official reason.

The iPhone 4 has been a nightmare for the Apple ever since its launch in June, with ‘antenna’ problems playing spoilsport to the much awaited product launch. Since then, Apple has been battling negative press and a disappointed and grieved public, much of whom were previously Apple fans. Some fans had even flown into the country and spent the night waiting outside the store in their excitement to receive the much awaited iPhone 4.

Sources however told Wall Street Journal that Mr. Papermaster and Steve Jobs did not get along. The inside story was that Papermaster was hired when Jobs was unwell and the two executives did not get along too well on the Apple CEO’s return. The departure of the former IBM senior executive is said to be a decision in pending, and not caused by the iPhone 4 blunder alone.

Papermaster had initially worked for IBM for around 25 years and quit in 2009 to join Apple, after a much watched law suit filed by IBM in protest. Bob Mansfield, the vice President of Apple’s computer engineering is all set to take over Papermaster’s role.

Could the removal of Papermaster help things around for Apple. The answer doesn’t seem too positive, but one can never know. Experts however have been shaking their head at the Apple, pitting its reputation to the dogs.
