Samsung Vibrant to Launch on July 15
According to official sources, T-Mobile has confirmed the launch of Samsung Vibrant on July 15. This would enable them to outshine AT&T which is all set to release Samsung Captivate on July 18. It would also be the foremost carrier to present a customized avatar of the Galaxy S.
Earlier reports suggested that the much fancied version would be out in the markets only on July 21 but the current stream of events reassuringly suggest that the operator has managed to set the devices ready a good one week prior to its scheduled release. Come Thursday and everyone who wanted a Galaxy S in the US should be in a T-Mobile Store.
A better design and an improved support system distinguish it from the European I9000 Galaxy S in the 3G band.
T-Mobile is expected to dole out these sets for approximately US $ 200 with the facilities of a qualifying voice and a data plan on a two year agreement. As of now, there is no reference to a SIM free version of the Vibrant. Subject to the fact that it won’t work on any of the 3G networks offered by the existing US carriers, purchasing it sans a valid contract is going to be of no use.
Earlier Samsung Electronics launched Galaxy S, a brand new smart phone to boost its sales significantly. However, a success in the US markets was a prerequisite for it to be called a success story.
To complement its technological efforts, Samsung also ensured that the campaign to support the smart phone was massive and penetrating. However, the response to the smart phone in the US has been lukewarm.
Samsung trails only Nokia in the global mobile vending segment. However, its presence in the smart phone segment has not been very inspiring.
Although Samsung smart phones are becoming increasingly popular amongst the US consumers, it is paramount that the global electronics giant continues to provide sleek and powerful devices such as the Galaxy S.
The association with T-Mobile is going to be a large indicator as to how the company is going to perform in the segment at least in the US market.
