HTC Might Bring Mondrian – The Windows 7 Powered Handset

If the rumor is to be believed, HTC is planning to introduce Mondrian, which will run on Windows Phone 7, the latest operating system by Microsoft. However, there is no official announcement of the handset by HTC, but there are certain leaked information regarding the possible specifications of the mobile phone.

Mondrian by HTC is going to sport a Snapdragon processor, which is 1.3 GHz Qualcomm unit. The name “Mondrian” is not finalized yet by the manufacturers as there are speculations that the device might be called HTC Diamond 3 or HTC HD3. Considering the popularity of HTC HD2, the probable next version will definitely generate much of a curiosity in the market. However, the possible release period of the device is around the third quarter of 2010.

HTC Mondrian will support both 2G and 3G network connectivity. The 2G users will access to the connectivity options of the quad band GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900; while the 3G users will get HSDPA 900/ 2100. Along with HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g will also ensure high speed connectivity options over WAP 2.0/xHTML and HTML browser features. There is a little bit of leaked information on the probable display features of the handset. The handsome – looking mobile phone will be equipped with a huge 4.3 inches touch screen display, which is a TFT capacitive variety. The resolution of the display is expected to be 480 x 800 pixels and it will come with accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn off. No detailed information about the multimedia features and the storage capacity is out yet.
