The Exciting New Dell Streak

The Dell Streak is an Android operating system based device. The size of the device is smaller than the Apple iPad and bigger than the smart phones. The device supports call facilities, but Dell insists that main function of the device is not, being a phone. The 5 inch screen on the Streak is really big. The resolution of the display is not as great as the Apple iPhone4, but is reasonable enough to deliver vibrant photos and videos. The capacitive touch screen on the Streak supports, multi touch input method, touch sensitive controls, automatic User Interface rotation and the auto turn off on proximity. Holding the device to the ear is a bit tedious task, it is not comfortable. A big phone as the Dell Streak is never supposed to be easy to handle. Though, the large HTC HD2 phone is easy to hold due to its user friendly clever design.

The speaker of the mobile device is placed on the back side. It a bad designing decision, as the music is obstructed if the device rests on its back. The mobile is compatible with the GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 2G network and the HSDPA 850/ 900/ 1900/ 2100 3G network. The mobile device has an internal memory of a jaw dropping 16 GB along with 512 MB ROM and 512 MB RAM. The microSD slot is there on the device. It is useful to insert an external memory card in the device. Dell Streak can support an external memory up to 32 GB.

The 5 MP digital camera is mounted on the back of the mobile phone. The camera can produce photos of resolution 2592 x 1944 pixels. The LED flash on the mobile helps in shooting in the dark. The front VGA camera on the device is suitable for video calling. All in all, the Android based, Streak is an exciting mobile device.
