Android Phones Challenge iPhones
Although Apple’s highly anticipated iPhones are slated to dominate the segment of high-end smartphones within the next half a decade, it is increasingly being challenged by mobile handsets using the Android platforms from Google according to a report published by a research firm.
According to an estimate, the total amount of mobile downloads would reach a staggering figure of 5.30 billion in the Asia-Pacific region out of which 597.15 million or 11 percent would be for the iPhones according to Ovum which is a leading technology consultancy firm.
With the Android platform phones taking up the lead positions in markets across the world, the competition is spicing up like never before. With technology firmly behind iPhones, Apple is trying to capture the solitary position.
The iPhone4 which is yet to be released in the market is expected to dole out a lot safer competition than its predecessors.
According to industry insiders, the phenomenal growth of Android based phones over the past two years is posing a serious challenge to the latest version of mobile handsets offered by Apple.
With these Google based handsets offering greater flexibility of usage and more variety of usage, the superiority of iPhones is hardly coming to the fore. With Apple rigidly offering only its own contents, these handsets are fast reaping the advantages.
With data available from leading economies like Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Canada, Hong Kong, Sweden and Switzerland; competition is only going to spiral up with passing time.
From July 30, IPhone4 would be available in stores in countries across the world. It would be available online through Apple stores.
Apple is highly upbeat about this recent development and is banking on it heavily to offset the advantage posed by the Android based iPhones.
The recent version is going to be launched simultaneously in 17 countries and the industry is watching keenly to experience the response.
In the European markets, Android phones have been nothing short of a revolution with a number of mobile operators offering these handsets in a platter.
With the markets set to experience an unprecedented growth, the competition only augurs well for the customers.
