Competitors of O2 also to start selling iPhone 4
O2 recently announced that it will sell the Apple iPhone 4G to the existing customers as of now and it has also not revealed about the level of stock it possesses. However, it is disclosed that the stock is extremely limited and the existing customers will only get the device on the first- come- first – served basis. Customers that are engaged with the O2 services since 24 May 2010 and include a home phone, mobile handset or home/mobile broadband with the operator are eligible to get the latest Apple mobile phone. This indicates o2’s limited availability of stocks.
With this announcement, the competitor networks are definitely going to take the benefits and start selling iPhones in the massive number. The first to join the bandwagon is Vodafone that is offering the Apple mobile phone to every enthusiastic buyer, without discriminating between the existing customers and the new customers. Those who will join the network of Vodafone can get the new iPhone as long as the stock lasts. The stock level of iPhones for the Vodafone users is also not revealed. The existing Vodafone users may get a bit annoyed as there will be possible rush of the new customers and they will not get any added privilege of being loyal to the network.
Another network provider “Three” also did not reveal its level of stock of the iPhones and there is no comment on their strategies to increase the sales of the device. It might be the indication that “Three” could struggle to meet the huge demand. However, T-Mobile, which is another leading network provider, has shown no hurry to rush with the wave. Their spokesperson said that announcement will be made on right time.
