The move to launch the Garminfone by T-Mobile is very surprising. The device is expected to arrive in the market during the spring and it will add up as a big player in the family of the Android run handsets. There was a demand of a good Android device by the followers of T-mobile and the announcement of Garminfone must have satisfied them. On top of that, the mobile phone is targeted at the users that belong to the mid-range. Therefore, T-Mobile Garminfone has excellent prospects to rise up its demand in the market.

It seems that Garmin has conceptualized the phone much before the free Google Maps Navigation service was released by Google. So far, Google’s navigation is the best, but we have to wait until the major player in this segment brings on its first mobile phone. The Garminfone is coming with an Android 1.6 OS, which running on a 600 MHz Qualcomm processor. However, the factor of Garminfone being a top class Android phone will not last for long as T-Mobile is going to bring in myTouch 3G Slide, which will run on the latest Android 2.1 with HTC Sense UI on top.

The build of Garminfone is of great quality, almost like XPERIA X10 by Sony Ericsson. However, the display of the phone resembles iPhone 3GS with the 3.5 inches capacitive touch screen. The other highlights of the display include multi touch input method and accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate.
Entertainment features of T-Mobile Garminfone include 3.15 mega pixel camera with auto focus, MP3/eAAC+/WAV player, MP4/H.263/H.264 player, YouTube, etc.
The T-Mobile enthusiasts will soon get the hands on experience of Garminfone as it is going to release in the second quarter of 2010.
