Apple iPhone 3GS vs Apple iPhone 4G HD – Is That A Big Deal?

It is not unknown to the mobile phone enthusiasts that the rumor is rife about the arrival of the latest device by Apple, which is iPhone 4G. Though, there is no such official confirmation by the company, but it is expected that the announcement of the mobile phone will be made sometime in 2010. Now, the question is whether it makes any sense to bring in 4G technology, when the carriers are struggling hard to provide proper connectivity of 3G in different areas.
The users of Apple iPhone 3GS, in an area where there is 3G support, are getting 5.8 Mbit/s the uplink and 14.0 Mbits/sl on the downlink. If 4G makes an appearance, it would provide 50 Mbit/s in the uplink and 100 Mbit/s in the downlink. But, the fact is that, if the users of 3GS get access to even 50% of the maximum speed, it would be more than enough for a lot of them. In that case, the introduction of 4G connectivity is relevant to what extent, only time will tell.
Apart from the connectivity features, Apple iPhone 4G, which might also be named as iPhone HD, has excelled in various sections. The type and the size of TFT capacitive touch screen is similar to that of iPhone 3GS at 3.5 inches. The offered resolution of the display is higher at 640 x 960 pixels, in comparison to 320 x 4801 pixels of 3GS. The camera is also expected to jump from 3.15 mega pixel to 5 mega pixel with HD video recording facility.
The features of Apple iPhone 3GS such as TV-out, Voice command/dial, Audio/video player, Digital compass, and Google Maps are expected to be present in IPhone 4G as well.
