Sony Ericsson Aspen Review – Checkout SE Aspen
Several mobile phone companies announced their latest handsets in the Mobile World Congress 2010, but Sony Ericsson Aspen is one of those handsets that have created a lot of buzz. This one is the third windows mobile handset with QWERTY and also the new inclusion in the GreenHeart range. Other GreenHeart phones announced by the company are Sony Ericsson Hazel GreenHeart and Sony Ericsson Elm GreenHeart. The handset is shaped like a bar and it will run on the Windows Mobile OS – 6.5.3. It is also going to include the interface of the proprietary panel like XPERIA X1 and XPERIA X2. Overall, Sony Ericsson Aspen packs quite a lot of punch to prove its mettle as a serious smart phone.
Sony Ericsson Aspen – improvement in runtime tools and performance of browser
The handset is coming with enhanced browser capability. The loading time of page has become slow and good memory management is also introduced. There is an increase in the speed of rotation and zoom, while the pan & flick signs smoothed. The handset features the updated versions of the runtime tools such as .NET CF 3.5 and SQL CE 3.1. Java™ applications are supported as well. Improvements in the field of error reporting and fixing bugs have also brought in.
Sony Ericsson Aspen – network and connectivity
Improvements can be noticed in every sphere of the mobile phone. It is supportive of a wide range of network, depending upon the location of the users. The users of the 2G network will get the support of the quad band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. However, the users of 3G network will either get support of the dual band HSDPA 900/ 2100 or tri band HSDPA 850/ 900/ 2100. The users of the mobile phone will get high speed browsing experience due to the presence of 3G and Wi Fi. Moreover, Class 10 GPRS and Class 10 EDGE support the speed of 32 – 48 kbps and 236.8 kbps respectively. Other prime connectivity features of Sony Ericsson Aspen include USB, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and Bluetooth®.
Sony Ericsson Aspen – the display
As of now, Sony Ericsson Aspen seems quite serious on features. However, the company has given good emphasis on the appearance of the phone as well. There is a certain mark of sophistication in the look of the mobile phone. It looks smart, serious and definitely means business. The frontal part is the combination of touch screen display and QWERTY keyboard. The other new Sony Ericsson devices like Sony Ericsson Vivaz PRO and Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10-mini-pro has combined touch screen with QWERTY in the form of a slider, which is not the case with Aspen. Therefore, the screen probably compromised to accommodate enough space for the keyboard. At 2.4 inches TFT resistive touch screen, the size id definitely smaller than the Vivaz pro and the XPERIA X10 Mini pro. However, the display of Aspen features 16 million colours and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Accelerometer sensor for auto rotate is also included in the display feature of the handset. On the top frontal part of the display, the logo of Sony Ericsson is placed. Right at the bottom of the screen and above the QWERTY keyboard, the main controlling keys are featured. These keys are call key, end key, select key, back-select key, and menu button. On the back portion, you can find the camera lens and the speaker along with the logo of Sony Ericsson.
Sony Ericsson Aspen- Memory
Sony Ericsson Aspen is a high quality smart phone, and it is for sure that the handset will support numerous applications. For a multiple application supportive handset, good memory capacity is essential. If the storage capacity is lagged behind, then it cannot support the applications properly. Sony Ericsson Aspen includes an internal memory of 100 MB and this memory is enough to store practically unlimited fields and entries of phone book and call records as well. Additional memory back up is a must for a smart phone like Sony Ericsson Aspen and therefore, the company is going to include 4 GB microSD™ card along with the package of the mobile phone. However, the memory is expandable up to 16 GB, which is quite good.
Sony Ericsson Aspen – the camera
The handset has concentrated on several aspects and included many high-end features. However, it could have provided a better camera with this handset. Sony Ericsson Aspen features a 3.15 mega pixel camera that comes with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The camera features smart contrast and the quality of imaging is compared according to the standard of a 3 mega pixel snapper. The camera is capable of recording videos and secondary camera option is not available here. Compared to the 5 mega pixel camera of Vivaz pro and XPERIA X10 Mini pro, this one seems like a downer in Aspen.
Sony Ericsson Aspen – Music and Video
The music lovers have a good reason to celebrate as Sony Ericsson Aspen features reasonably good music functionalities. The handset features an integrated music player that is capable of playing diverse music files such as MP3, eAAC+, WAV, and WMA. Stereo FM with RDS is also included as an additional benefit for the music lovers. Also, there is efficient video playback functionality in the handset. The video player is also capable of playing different files like MP4, H.264, H.263, and WMV.
Sony Ericsson Aspen – other entertainment features
The users of the mobile phone can play good quality of games and enjoy social networking. The handset is supportive of Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and YouTube; so there is no dull moment with Sony Ericsson Aspen. Built with eco friendly materials, Aspen is a mobile phone to watch out for.
