Samsung S5550 Shark 2- Average Slider Phone with AMOLED Display

The entire new Shark range of the mobile phones from Samsung looks attractive and loads good features. S5550, which is named as Shark 2, is the third installment in the series. The other phones are Samsung S5550 Shark 2 and Samsung S3550 Shark 3. The display of the mobile phone brings in the combination of the Kevler coating and AMOLED, which is looks immaculately stunning. This slider device is an attention grabber from every angle, but it is also true that the design is not a new concept. It looks like a regular slider and appears quite pale compared to the other excellent sliders from Samsung. It seems that the biggest USP of the mobile phone lies in its AMOLED display, which is definitely very commendable. The quality of images at indoors is excellent, but in the outdoors, especially under sunlight, the display disappoints.

Social networking is the biggest USP of the Shark mobile phones. Shark 2 is also well equipped with its social networking features. The mobile phone has included a dedicated feature on the main menu called Communities. With this feature, the users can download the settings of their favorite social networks and also store the login details as well. This enables the users to easily access their favorite social networks and can upload files directly.

Apart from the AMOLED screen, the biggest highlight of Samsung S5550 Shark 2 seems to be its high-end 5 mega pixel snapper. The resolution of the images that this camera clicks is 2560 x 1920 pixels. Though the interface of the camera bear resemblance with the Ultra B, it is much easier to use. The users can take snaps in different modes such as multi shot, single shot, mosaic, and frame. Dynamic range and anti-shake feature are the additional benefits of the camera.

Web browser of the phone seems to be fine. The rendering of the pages is quite well, at least for its class. Try to use the default page size, or else it will start on showing up errors frequently. You can get full screen views and landscape views as well and also brings in excellent features like the virtual mouse pointer and the mini map.

Overall, Samsung S5550 Shark 2 offers nothing extraordinary, but its AMOLED display, 5 MP camera, and good social network connectivity are the saving grace.
