Samsung S3550 Shark 3 – The baby in the Shark family

Samsung has rolled out three mobile phones in the Shark series- Samsung S5350 Shark, Samsung S5550 Shark 2, and Samsung S3550 Shark 3. Among the three mobile phones, S3550 Shark 3 is the baby in the family. It is a budget phone in every aspect and aimed at the young generation with the high-end social network communication features. From the look of the phone, it seems that Samsung has decided to bring back its traditional style with comfortable slide. It has arrived against the present trend of the touch screen mobile phones with its simple features and excellent affordability. Do not expect HSDPA, 3G or WiFi in the Shark 3, the baby Shark just relies on GPRS and EDGE for data transfers.

The display of the phone seems average with a small 2 inch TFT display screen that offers QVGA 240 x 320 resolution. However, the phone is extremely handy to carry as it just weighs 79 grams and measures 96 x 46 x 14mm.

The entertainment features of the mobile phone are also not that extraordinary. Samsung Shark 3 brings in a mere 2 mega pixel camera that can click images with 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution. There is stereo FM with RDS and a built in music player, which can play MP3, WAV, eAAC+, and WMA files. The video playback of the mobile phone is capable of playing MP4, H.264, H.263, and WMV.

It is aimed to lure the young generation with not just affordable price, but also excellent social networking features. Shark 3 can provide easy access to the popular social networks like Twitter and Facebook with just a single click. The accessibility of the social network can be set up on the home screen of the phone as well. The short cut icons of the social networks are visible on the standby screen of the mobile phone.
