The Launch of Nokia E72

The Nokia Connection event took place in Singapore in the month of June and there the announcement of Nokia E72 was made. This is the newest QWERTY smart phone from the house of Nokia that is going to take on the market of hugely popular Nokia E71. Nokia was trying to bring on some updates with E71 and hence the company has decided to come up with E72. The changes are promising enough to generate high curiosity about the device. Nokia E72 is expected to provide desktop-like email experience that one can find in the highly business oriented device nokia-e-75. The optical navigation key is included in the device that will help the user to scroll through emails, menus and images.

Communication aspect of Nokia E72 is expected to be sky high. The users of the mobile phone are going to have lifetime license for IM service and mobile email by Nokia, Nokia Messaging, along with committed clients for IBM Lotus Notes Traveler and Mail for Exchange. IM accounts provided by Nokia Messaging can be directly set up on the home screen.

Nokia E72 is a slim device with 10mm dimension, similar to that of E71, but the other functionalities are upgraded and it supports HSUPA up to 2Mbps and HSDPA up to 10Mbps. UMTS is also improved and it will now feature 850/1900/2100 Mhz and 900/1900/2100 Mhz. Moreover, there are several other upgrades in the phone such as the navigation key with optical track pad, WLAN, A-GPS, 2.4″ QVGA landscape screen, 5 mega pixel camera, etc. With such excellent features, Nokia E72 is expected to be priced around 350 euro.

As far as the latest reports are concerned, it is speculated that Nokia E72 will see the light during October. But, those who are really excited and can’t wait for that long, they can check out special pre-release event that is organized in Jakarta in the month of September. The Grand Ballroom of Ritz-Carlton is decided as the venue where the event will be held and during this event, around 72 units are expected to be sold. This will be first appearance of Nokia E72 in public.

The predecessor of Nokia E72 that is E 71 is already very popular and the users are quite satisfied with its performance. With the announcement of an upgraded model, people are really excited to check out the improvements, especially the QWERTY lovers.
