Nokia have put very similar functions in the N96 and N97, to see what you can get out of these two great phones we are going to tell you what the key differences are between them. To start it off the Nokia N96 is generalised as a camera phone, with 320 x 240 pixels and a 2.5 inch display screen while the Nokia N97 is known as a touch screen smart phone. This comes with 640 x 360 pixels and 3.5 inch display screen.
Secondly the N97 comes with a slide out QWERTY keypad that slides out at an angle automatically adjusting to horizontal mode when being used. Unfortunately the N96 does not have this feature with the keypad sliding out at the same angle as the phone. Due to both phones containing different technologies the N97 is longer and slightly heavier than the N96. Battery power lets the N96 down with only a 950 mAh battery, while the N97 has a 1500 mAh battery.

Both of these mobile phones are supported on EDGE, GPRS, 3G and HSDPA Networks. They are also both supported by Quad-band GSM networks but the N97 works very well on WCDMA. The N96 and the N97 are both fully equipped to support WAP and Java technologies using the Symbian operating system. With both phones having there own built-in web browser. They both also support infrared , WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Now lets get down to the memory in the N96 and the N97. Unfortunately for the N96 the N97 beats it hands down with 32 Gigabytes of internal memory and the N96 only having 16 Gigabytes. Both phone memories can be expanded with a 16 Gigabyte MicroSD memory card.
Camera and Multimedia compared
There is no obvious difference with the digital cameras quality that comes with the N96 and N97 as they both have similar technologies. They both have a 5 mega-pixel camera, LED flash with functions, and auto focus. When it comes to video quality the Nokia N97 comes top with DVD quality video playback and recording allowing the user to shoot 30 FPS. They do both come with night mode settings so the user can still take quality videos and pictures in darker environments.
