Samsung OmniaHD – records video in High definition!

Samsung unveiled there latest beauty this week at the mobile world congress meeting, the Samsung OmniaHD. Not to state the obvious but this is the upgraded version of the highly successful Samsung Omnia we saw released in 2008. The Omnia HD is the first phone ever which will record video in high definition (720p). To make sure you can view you HD video Samsung have included a 3.7 inch touchscreen AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic light emitting diode) on the OmniaHD. The quality of video watch on this screen is pure class and Samsung have definitely set the standard for the other manufactures to follow. There are sure to be some great Samsung OmniaHD deals available when this handset is released later in 2009.

The Samsung OmniaHD is operated by the Symbian S60 5th edition which is leaps and bounds ahead of the other mobile phone platforms. This operating system was a joint project between Symbian and nokia and high res touchscreen (luckily for Samsung) was at the front of there minds when building this. Some would say Nokia have slip up by letting Samsung take advantage of the S60 5th edition first. The screen on the OmniaHD is a vast improvement on the sluggish Samsung Omnia.

Like the Samsung Omnia, the Omnia HD features a superb 8.0 megapixel camera. You can choose to have 16 or 32 GB of onboard memory. We are still waiting for the rest of the OmniaHD specification to surface but we will bring you more news when we have it.
